Meet Matthew Gallagher - President of American Electrical, Inc.

Matt Gallagher is husband and father to 4 young and spirited children.  Professionally he serves American Electrical Inc. (AEI) as its President, a role he assumed in March of 2020.  In this capacity he enjoys the ability to impact all elements of the business.  His focus is on growth while upholding the F.A.S.T.E.R. credo that lies at the heart of AEI.

Matt began his career in the United States Air Force, on active duty for more than six years. While in the Air Force, he held positions in the tactical communication field and as a Contracting Officer. During this time, he participated in several U.S. and NATO led operations throughout various theaters of conflict.

Upon leaving the military, Matt joined Johnson and Johnson through their Junior Military Officer Recruitment program. Matt was a National Sales Top Performer and selected as clinical trainer during his time with Ethicon Inc., a division of Johnson and Johnson. Following JNJ he moved to GE Energy and then to Morpho Detection which was ultimately bought by Smiths Detection.  There he held numerous positions within the Homeland Protection arena; such as leading Regional and National Sales teams, managing the Global Supply Chain, overseeing EMEA and APAC Field Service business units, as well as managing all Global Strategic Projects.

Meet Thomas McCormick - Founder of American Electrical, Inc.

Thomas McCormick started American Electrical, Inc. (AEI) in 1997 after spending his early career with Dupont as an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer, and as a Design and Project Engineer in Richmond, Virginia.  After receiving his MBA at William and Mary in 1990, he held positions in Engineering, Marketing and VP of Sales for Weidmuller, Inc.

Tom left Weidmuller in July 1997 and formed American Electrical, Inc. (AEI).  He began with a single supplier and grew the business into a best-in-class importer and distributor of over 15 industrial electrical component product lines.

As the founder of American Electrical, Tom maintains involvement in strategy and marketing efforts.

Today, AEI has over 20 product lines from several partners form all over the world selling to valuable Distributor partners and direct to OEM’s all over North America.  One of the keys to the success of AEI, McCormick would say, “is our ability respond to the customer immediately, to offer quality Industrial Electrical components for less, delivered today. Our employees all make sure of that - they know what gives us a competitive advantage and they exploit it.  Our customers are happy to deal with a Company that acts quickly on their behalf.  Speed is our key to success!”

We want to thank our customers for supporting American Electrical, Inc. over the last 25+ years!
